Battling Seasonal Allergies? Try Acupuncture (dedicated)

Wellness  /

Are you in love with this perfect spring weather or what? One thing we could totally do without, though, are the killer seasonal allergies that come along with it. And if you often find yourself coming down with a cold as well this time of year, you’re not alone. Turns out that our bodies need energy to shift from season to season with the changes in the environment. If the immune system is already weak, it’s easier for a virus to wreak havoc on your body and make you sick this time of year.

To fend off anything that might slow down our super busy spring schedules (not to mention summer just around the corner), it’s worth trying an all-natural way to help stay in tip-top shape: seasonal acupuncture, which targets strategic energy points to boost the immune system and stay healthy during these seasonal transitions.

Whether you’re an acupuncture pro or a curious newbie, The Graf Center for Integrative Medicine at Englewood Health has licensed acupuncturists available to consult with you and develop a customized treatment plan to address your specific needs. Seasonal acupuncture is slated for Tuesday June 18th through Thursday June 20th. Appointments are required for the 45-minute sessions, which run $65 each.

Bonus: Acupuncture has tons of other benefits -- boosting your blood circulation, relaxing your muscles, releasing tension, and balancing hormones. It can assist with everything from digestion to weight loss to sleep, and can combat issues such as insomnia, rheumatoid arthritis, infertility, depression, and general aches and pains. (Speaking of aches and pains, registration is now open online for the Fibromyalgia Workshop with Acupuncture, Meditation, Touch Therapy, and Nutrition on May 14th.)

Acupuncture, in case you were wondering, uses super-duper tiny needles, is completely safe and painless and can positively benefit the systems beyond the immune system, including the nervous, endocrine, respiratory systems in addition to the immune system. The Graf Center even offers a specific form of acupuncture targeted for those looking to quit smoking, helping to reduce nicotine cravings by stimulating brain receptors.

What doesn’t acupuncture do? We’re still trying to figure that one out too ...
