Looking for an outstanding outdoor dining spot? Seak and you shall find—with amazing views of the Hudson to boot! Seak, a brand-new Viet-Thai restaurant in Edgewater NJ, has opened its doors just in time to get your summertime al fresco dining on in style.

Don’t let the shopping center location fool you: Seak has a gorgeous, sleek vibe that rivals those fine-dining city spots you’ll find across the river. Guests are greeted by a gorgeous indoor dining space decked out with warm wood tabletops, colorful metal chairs and caged pendant lights illuminating a well-designed bar area and open kitchen.

But the real appeal awaits on the rustic riverside outdoor deck, which features sweeping views of the city skyline. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy Seak’s sizzling menu of Viet-Thai specialties. We stopped in for dinner on a recent Saturday night and had a most memorable time sampling a variety of entrees and apps that draw inspiration from the floating markets of Southeast Asia. First up was an order of Vietnamese Spring Rolls ($8), waffle-cut Banh Mi Frites, which arrived smothered in a special sriracha sauce and topped with a caramelized pork crumble, and the Cahn Cua with Vegetables ($6), a Vietnamese-style sweet-and-sour soup loaded with fresh okra, beansprouts, tomatoes, mushrooms and pineapple.

Next up were the entrees, which included perfectly prepared Thai Eggplant ($16) and, of course, classic Chicken Pad Thai ($13). Seak’s menu is vast and offers tons of options to add-on tofu, chicken, beef or shrimp. Many also accommodate gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian diets. (Not sure about a dish? Just ask one of Seak’s super-friendly staff members, who bent over backwards to make sure we had an amazing evening, for help.)

While they weren’t serving dessert yet, our menus teased that Mango with Sticky Rice, Café Saigon Affogato and Coconut Banana Tempura ($7 each) would soon be making their debuts. (Note to self: Make plans to come back!) But it was a great excuse to sample a couple of Seak’s extensive Bubble Tea and Fruit Smoothie offerings ($5 each), which include flavors like Taro, Papaya, Honeydew, Lychee and Green Apple.
