If you’re looking for a performing arts program which boasts a staff of big “names” in the business, look no further than Kaplen JCC on the Palisades’ Drama School. With a vast array of specialty programming, such as “Little Kids Do Drama” for the little ones or “Make Me an Actor” and “Broadway Prep” for older kids, plus individual acting and voice lessons and actual open casting calls on the premises, your rising star will be well prepared for any audition for Broadway or the big or little screen.

Where else would a wannabe actor perfect his or her craft but on a real stage? Bergen PAC offers up some of the best instructors with resumes of impressive credits who will teach your kid to sing, act, dance and perform in their studios and then bring their skills to an audience under the lights of Bergen PAC’s theater. Offering classes such as “Creative Drama Tots” and “Musical Theater” for kids ages 4 through teens plus private acting/vocal lessons and an opportunity to audition for their theatrical productions – your kid will gain the confidence and experience to be a star.

Specializing in triple treat classes, CPA offers musical theater programs for kids ages 4 – teens that are sure to keep them happy, engaged and learn everything they need to know to perform like a star on stage. Saddle River Youth Theater (37 East Allendale Avenue, Allendale, 201-825-8805) 
At SRYT, rehearsals are lessons and the stage is the classroom. Bergen County’s longest running youth theater offers year-round private acting, voice, and dance lessons or workshops separated by age group and level starting at first grade. This program hones training into fun, crafted shows over a 12-week period so kids can enroll for one semester and still enjoy a full experience. More experienced ages/levels have the opportunity to perform in the company’s 120 seat theater.

Whether you’ve got a shower singer or a little diva on your hands, Stage Left knows how to build confidence and stage presence in the Performing Arts. This not-for-profit, built on the passion of founder Ayn Lauren and executive director Francesca Lopez, empowers kids to be creative and build confidence through their musical performance workshops, dance classes and productions held all year-round.
Acting Up (283 Livingston St., Northvale, 201-660-7414)
The newest performance arts center to the scene offers a variety of classes that emphasize acting, improv, and musical theater productions for kids ages 3 through 18. With over 30 years of theatrical and performing arts experience, Director Layla Francesca Bundrick provides structured classes based on age that will help students improve their stage presence, gain industry tips, and the opportunity to work with industry experts to fine-tune their acting skills. Kids, ages 7 and up, also have the opportunity to audition for their mainstage production which takes place on their exclusive in-house stage in front of a live audience.
