The perfect summer camp geared toward middle school students seeking to pursue advanced studies in the sciences, humanities, math, technology or the visual, performing, or culinary arts doesn’t exist…wait, what? Ohhh, there IS a camp that will give your middle schooler an intensive, immersive, challenging experience in subjects that are interesting and relevant! And it’s just around the corner at Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Bergen County Academies will once again offer their Academy After Hours Summer Academic Camps from July 7 th – 18 th , 2025. AAH courses are available to all students whose skills and abilities fall within the middle school range (grades 6-8) and will be taught by the accomplished faculty members from Bergen County Academies. Classes run from 8:30am – 3:30pm and include three different courses for a total of six instructional hours per day.
For those students with a focus and interest in STEM, there are classes in programming languages like Python and Java, Applied Math, Non-Routine Problem Solving, Engineering Design, and 3D printing. Kids who want to explore or pursue their artistic side can choose classes in the visual arts, Western or Asian cuisine, Baking Fundamentals, Theater, Fashion, or public speaking. And those who are interested in improving their storytelling and writing will want to sign up for essay writing, using generative AI, crafting the hero’s journey, or making a comic. And for those budding business tycoons or eventual poli sci majors, classes in entrepreneurship, marketing, mock trial, or Model UN will give them a taste of what their future career might look like.
