11 Online and Virtual Pandemic Workouts in Bergen County

Fitness  /

Remember a few weeks ago when your life was normal? Remember how you would get the kids out to school then head to the gym, replenish your sanity and then go about your day? Well, now the kids are home, you are home and the gyms are closed. But your need for a dose of sanity is greater than ever. Lucky for you, gyms all over Bergen County are offering workouts, classes and virtual meet ups to help you get through this pandemic with your abs intact, no matter how many loaves of banana bread you bake

Flow Yoga: Your favorite instructors are coming to you live through your computer screen. Sign up for the class on their website, follow the directions to link to Zoom then build strength, flexibility, balance and a sense of calm (all things that are super helpful in a pandemic) with one of their all levels classes. Make sure to join the class a little early to take advantage of the pre-class chit chat in the “virtual studio”. And stay in touch on Facebook and Instagram.

ilovekickboxing: Classes have been online since last week at this local fave. Ilovekickboxing is offering live Zoom classes and then posting the recorded workouts for those who want to work out on their own time. Follow them on Instagram or their FB page for more information about their full online platform that included nutritional coaching and full at home workouts. You can also join in and play at-home fitness Bingo. Share the workouts with your teens and make sure to take care of you.

Tailormadebodiez: Classes are online and completely free for clients and non-clients for the duration. Monday and Thursday at noon, join in for live stream classes accessible through a weekly Zoom link. Just email them at [email protected] for the link and get sweaty. Wednesdays, join in a live Q&A with registered nutritionist, Aaron, and get all your eating during a quarantine questions answered. Or, check out their Instagram for workouts, posted daily at noon.

coolhotyoga: Check out their Instagram and Facebook pages for posts offering free workouts for all. In addition, coolhotyoga has got your kids covered with a 30 minute class for kids on their new YouTube channel where you can also find hula hooping tutorials. Not sure about you but we think hula hooping might be the fun we didn’t know we needed right now. Stay tuned for an upcoming Doga class (yoga to do with your dogs) and more tutorials and classes offered by their dedicated instructors.

Rowhouse: Virtual classes are going on now and the first week (through March 28th) is free for members AND Bergen Mama readers! Sign up on Facebook, Instagram or through this Google form and get beach body ready. Just in case we can ever go to the beach again.

Fire Shaper: Fire Shaper is “open” for virtual classes and is offering two classes per day and a restorative on Sunday. A portion from every class is being donated to No Kid Hungry, an organization that makes sure kids, especially those who have lost access to food now that schools are closed, have enough to eat. Visit their website to sign up for classes and packages. And follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

Juma Fit: Their doors might be closed (temporarily!) but they are open for business online. Visit their YouTube channel for workout videos or sign up for their #jumadaily subscription and receive an emailed workout daily Monday – Friday and a weekend workout via Facebook. Perks are membership in your own private support group of likeminded workout warriors and customized playlists for your workouts. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram or email [email protected] for your #jumadaily subscription.

GYMGUYZ: These GUYZ are still open for business. If by “open” we mean still doing what they do, making house calls to help you meet your fitness goals. Precautions taken during this time include: wearing protective shoe covers and gloves, maintaining a distance of 6’ during training sessions, hospital grade sanitation and lots of hand sanitizer. Benefits include, as always, a personalized workout and some in person contact. To schedule, email [email protected] or call 855.GYMGUYZ. GYMGUYZ are also offering one-on-one virtual classes and free Zoom classes. The next one is on Friday at 2:00 pm. Sign up through their FB page.

Body Burn Barre: The lights are on and they are ready to go! Virtual classes are scheduled Saturdays – Tuesdays and include barre, cardio sculpt, boot camp and boxing. Check out the schedule and sign up on their website and then get moving! Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

Sweat Glen Rock: Trainers Mike, Olivia and Seema have been hard at work posting workouts on their social media sites but stay tuned because Sweat is working to consolidate some of their workouts onto the SGR Instagram  page.
