The Chocolate Expo is Coming to Garden State Plaza!

Weekly Events  /

Step aside, Willy Wonka. There’s a new chocolate extravaganza in town. The Chocolate Expo is coming to Westfield Garden State Plaza in Bergen County this Sunday, January 27th from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm and it’s going to be scrumpdillyicious.

America’s largest chocolate festival will feature local, regional and international vendors offering tastings (!) of chocolates, baked goods, specialty foods, cheeses, wines and more. These foods will also be for sale during the event. Don’t miss the chocolate fountains flowing with white, milk and dark chocolate before you head off to get your Valentine’s Day shopping done early this year!

When your kid gets tired of tasting chocolate (right, as if that will ever happen) the Kidz Zone will offer face painting, children’s activities and photo ops with some of your favorite princess characters.

Plus, you’ll have the chance to meet stars from two of our most beloved movie classics. Paris Themmen, the actor who played “Mike Tee Vee” in the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Adrian Hall, “Jeremy Potts” from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will both be on hand on Sunday. So will the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car as part of the 50thanniversary celebration of the release of the movie.

In case you want to plan your eating, a partial list of vendors scheduled to appear at the event include: Caramella Moo, Chocolates U, Chocolate Works, Chocolate Moonshine, Lily’s Chocolate Paradise, Raw Chocolate Love, Teacher’s Recipe Fudge, The Pretzel Princess and VillaKuyaya Organic Ecuadorian Chocolate. There will be bacon bottomed Twinkies and chocolate Oreos but we’re most intrigued by Chocolate Moonshine.

Admission is $15/adult and $10 for kids ages 5–11 when purchased online. Tickets at the door are $20/adult and $15/child ages 5-11. Choose your admission time when you purchase your ticket online and stay as long as you’d like. A limited number of VIP tickets will be sold and include entry any time of day and a special tote bag. And if you can’t make it until dinner time, 5PM tickets will be offered for a reduced rate.
