Schools  /

We all know Bergen County's got an amazing parks system, great shopping, yummy restaurants and some of the best elementary schools in the state. Now, the New Jersey State Department of Education has published ratings for the public schools in NJ and confirmed what we already knew- we have some of the best schools in NJ. Find out which are the best high schools in Bergen County (according to the state) and if your district made the list!

A word about how each school was rated: The schools were rated based on graduation rate (50%), PARCC test proficiency rate (35%) and chronic absenteeism (15%). Scores were based 50% on overall performance and 50% on the performance of subgroups including special education, economically disadvantaged, African American, or Hispanic. This rating does not take into account any of the special strengths of a particular school and scores could have been affected by students opting out of PARCC testing.
