The Bergen County DMV With the Shortest Wait? There’s a Service for That

 /

Sure, it might seem like the world’s slowed down a bit lately and we’ve all got some extra free time in our busy schedules, but that idea quickly goes out the window the window at the thought of using that time to stand in line at the MVC, which is, frankly, something we don’t wish on our worst enemy (and with the COVID-19 pandemic still in full swing, a potential health risk!). With agencies woefully understaffed and a three-month backlog of requests, transactions, and tests that have to be done in person, that line is longer than ever!

Enter Bryanna Patterson, a high school senior from Howell, who has stumbled upon a rather unique job: She’ll stand in line for you! And with cranky customers routinely starting to line up at 4 a.m. (the MVC doesn’t open until 8 a.m.), you’ll be glad she did.

It’s a big idea with a rather simple design: Patterson typically arrives at the Freehold or Lakewood MVC between 4 and 5 a.m. alongside her cousin and business partner, Alina, snags a place in line for you, and then waits until you’re able to get there. Bingo! You’ve saved hours of time and hassle—and it’s all perfectly legal! So what’s she charge for this ingenious service? Well, she recently told a local paper that since she’s just a high school student, any amount helps and she’s very negotiable with her fee, but you can expect to hand over at least $100.

Worth every penny, if you ask us.
