Summer Camp Dreams Come True at Palisades Country Day Camp [dedicated]

Camps  /

There’s no question about the importance of summer camp in providing kids with the opportunity to learn new things, try new activities and make new friends. After a long year of distancing from friends and activities coupled with additional screen time and home time, summer camp is even more essential in providing children with a return to normalcy, mental health break and socialization. Palisades Country Day Camp is excited to open their doors and hearts to families for summer 2021, and to bring back their motto “It’s All About Fun” -- one they take very seriously.

The 28-year-old family-owned business -- and Bergen County’s Best Summer Day Camp -- has made it their mission to ensure that campers, ages 18 months to nine years, have the time of their lives as they learn through experience and play. Campers benefit from a low camper-to-counselor ratio with highly-qualified, experienced, caring staff members mostly comprised of returning certified teachers and college students studying education. This high rate of retention enables PCDC to be extremely selective when staffing its camp. All of the staff members are trained in developing physical coordination, fostering healthy attitudes and nurturing your child’s greatest potential.

So what does the summer have in store for your child? PCDC campers enjoy the benefits of this kid paradise which includes a magnificent playground, daily swim program, sports field, art pavilion, spray parks and indoor gyms. Additional activities include Lego/robotics, nature and yoga plus theme days like superhero day and animal petting zoo day. The camp experience will have the same sense of excitement and community, with a few modifications for safety. Groups will be placed in “pods,” with the enormous outdoor camp grounds serving as a top feature for fun and safety. Older groups ages five to nine will experience special programs unique to their groups including cooking, woodworking, performing arts and field games.

The PCDC swim program is also getting an upgrade, so your camper will leave with confidence in and out of the water. This year, each camper will be evaluated every two weeks on specific skills ranging from “beginners” (blowing bubbles to fully submerging themselves in the water) to more advanced lessons (perfecting the intricate techniques involved in free style and backstroke). All lessons are conducted by our Red Cross certified lifeguards through the guidance of our Aquatics Director.

Palisades Country Day camp is committed to giving all children a memorable and safe summer. It is accredited through the American Camp Association, and they adhere to all of their COVID-19 guidelines for camp regulation and safety.

PCDC camp will run from Monday June 28th thru Friday August 20th. To learn more about the Palisades Country Day Camp experience please call the camp office to schedule a personal tour at (201)-784-7600 ext. 3. Enrollment in the camp is limited and campers are admitted on a rolling, first come, first served basis. And bonus!
