School’s Out, Teacher’s Convention Camps Are In

Camps  /

With Halloween right around the corner, that means one thing (besides an overabundance of candy taking over your home): New Jersey Teacher's Convention is approaching, and your kids will need some school's out fun so you can get stuff done. And there are plenty of options to choose from in Bergen County for all ages and interests. If your child is an athlete and wants to keep the practice going, loves natures and the outdoors, or has a taste for treats, there are plenty of School's Out Camps to keep them busy. But don't want to book your spot — they're bound to fill up quickly.

The Little Gym of Englewood The Teacher's Convention Mini Camp for ages 4 to 8 runs for two days and two time slots. Each day, kids will have a ball participating in gymnastics, interactive and age-appropriate games, and learning activities. They'll run, jump, crawl, flip, and have fun getting out some energy. Thursday November 7-Friday November 8, Englewood

The Fieldhouse This new sports spot has it all — basketball, baseball, soccer, dodgeball, arts and crafts, and more, and by signing up for a full- or half-day Teacher's Convention session, your child will get access to everything. Sign them up for one or both days as they take advantage of the huge facility with plenty of space to run and play. Thursday November 7-Friday November 8, Northvale

Code Ninjas Let your kid engage in (one of) their favorite pastimes while developing their tech skills at Code Ninja's camp. With a specific focus on Minecraft, Coding, and Roblox at their Midland Park and Saddle Brook locations, kids can play, create and learn while doing what they love. Thursday November 7-Friday November 8, Saddle Brook and Midland Park

Northern Valley Sports Academy Keep your little athlete moving while school's out at one of NVSA's sports-centered Teacher's Convention camps. Choose from a full or half day, with aftercare available too, where kids can play soccer, baseball, run relays, bounce and more. Thursday November 7-Friday November 8, Closter

HealthBarn USA This indoor/outdoor NJEA camp bring kids closer to nature while creating a focus on living a healthy lifestyle. Gardening, nature hikes, cooking, and composting are just some the fun and educational activities for kids ages 4 to 13 to enjoy. Thursday November 7-Friday November 8, Ridgewood

High Exposure Available for the entire week, High Exposure's fall camp for ages 5 to 13 lets kids climb walls, try the ninja obstacle, enjoy a Nerf battle, do archery, sit around the camp fire, and more. Camps are all taught by professional trainers so your ninja-in-training can develop skils on real Ninja Warrior obstacles. Monday November 4-Friday November 8, Northvale

The Flavor Labs Budding chefs cook up tasty eats, including sweet to savory dishes. Drop in for both days or one, with day one featuring red velvet cupcakes and chicken taquitos and day two featuring Taylor Swift's chair sugar cookies and pizza pockets. They'll learn the art of cooking while enjoying their creations. Thursday November 7-Friday November 8, Norwood & Paramus

Tenafly Nature Center The Autumn Break camp for grades Pre-K to 6th brings kids closer to nature. Campers will explore the woods and trails of the nature center, make crafts, playgames, visit with the animals, and learn a thing or two about ecosystems — in a fun way. Plus, they'll get to enjoy the great outdoors while the weather's still warm. Thursday November 7-Friday November 8, Tenafly

Bricks 4 Kidz Kids ages 5 to 12 can enjoy a day of Lego building. They'll have hands-on fun creating Lego models with different themes and can make their own creative builds from thousands of bricks. Choose from an afternoon class on November 4 or 6, or all day fun on election day. Monday November 4-Wednesday November 6, Closter

Ridgewood YMCA When school's closed, the Ridgewood Y is open and filled with summer camp-like activities including crafts, themed games, and swimming. The best part? Camp is in session from 8 am-6 pm for kids ages 4 to 12, so their day will be jam-packed with fun. Thursday November 7-Friday November 8, Ridgewood

Superdome Sports Boost your kids' activity while schools (not) in session at Superdome Sports' All Sports and Soccer clinics. For the All Sports Holiday camp, they get a sampling of soccer, flag football, wiffle ball, field hockey and arts & crafts, or they can focus on foot skills and technical training with the all-soccer camp. Thursday November 8-Friday November 9, full- and half-day sessions available, Waldwick
