Unless you’re over the age of 91, you’ve never known a world without Mickey Mouse. That’s because, it turns out, the most famous mouse of all time was born 90 years ago. To mark the momentous occasion, Disney is unveiling the interactive art exhibit Mickey: The True Original Exhibition in an event space on Manhattan’s West Side. The company has partnered with various artists, designers, sculptors, and muralists to create original works of art and multimedia installations (including the Mickey Mouse Cosmic Cavern) that will sit alongside historic pieces and memorabilia as part of the 16,000-square-foot exhibit.
The Mickey madness kicks off in November and runs through early February, perfect for indoor winter fun. And you can buy tickets online with start times offered every 20 minutes. OK, so it might not be quite as magical as Disney World, but it might just be the next best thing ...
Mickey: The True Original Exhibition, 60 10th Avenue, New York. Runs November 8th through February 10th, closed Mondays and holidays. Tickets: $38/general admission.
