High Flying Fun on American Dream’s Dream Wheel [dedicated]

Day Trips  /

It's always a thrill to see the panoramic view of New York City, the Hudson River and New Jersey when you land at Newark airport after being away. But now, you don't have to pack a suitcase to see that view. In fact, you need to go no further than American Dream in East Rutherford, NJ because (insert hearty "Hooray" here) the Dream Wheel is now open!

Hop into one of the 27 climate-controlled gondolas on the Dream Wheel and, in 30 minutes, get a bird's eye view of the Manhattan skyline, Northern New Jersey, Brooklyn and, if the weather is just right, beyond. You'll have 30 minutes to ride in comfort as your view continually changes outside the wraparound windows. Gondolas can accommodate up to 16 people, but if you're in the mood to treat your loved ones to something extra special, opt for the VIP Experience. You'll get a more comfortable ride and upgraded amenities for your group of up to 6 people. Then, once you've feasted on the view, make sure to stop and feast on the carnival-themed confections at Deep Fried Love. Don't know about you, but they had us at "fried."

There's no need to rush home after your spin on the Dream Wheel. Make a plan to visit some of the other attractions including the DreamWorks Water Park, the Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, Angry Birds Mini Golf or BlackLight Mini Golf, Mirror Maze, ice skating at The Rink, indoor skiing at Big SNOW, TiLT Museum, LEGOLAND Discovery Center, and Sea Life Aquarium.

But wait, there's more. Shops like the only Saks Fifth Avenue in New Jersey, Hermès, Tiffany & Co., Zara and Lululemon are now open and when you get hungry and tired, there are plenty of places for you to grab a bite like Carpaccio, 1st RND, House of 'Que, and more.

American Dream is open 7 days a week. Check hours here. For more information about the Dream Wheel or to purchase tickets, click here. Then, join the revolution and take a spin.
