Fourth of July Fireworks and Festivities in Bergen County and Beyond

Don’t look now but it’s almost time for a Party in the USA. You know you’re going to barbeque and probably watch a parade or three but where are you going to go for that most important of July 4thtraditions, the fireworks? There are plenty of places in Bergen County to watch fireworks this 4thof July, so make a plan and then grab your earplugs. It’s time to revel in the rocket’s red glare at these spectacular fireworks displays in and around Bergen County, New Jersey to thank those who have served our country and remember why we love living in America. 

 

Fair Lawn Fireworks Show

What: Kick off the holiday weekend early with the Fair Lawn Fireworks Show on Thursday, June 28th. Presale tickets are available now. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, enjoy the pre-fireworks music and then settle in to honor America’s freedom. 

Where: Memorial Park, Fair Lawn

When: Thursday, June 28th. Gates open at 6:45 pm. Rain Date is Thursday, July 5th.

Chow at: Food and beverage vendors will be on location. Or, you can never go wrong with a stop at Benny’s Luncheonette and whatever you do, be sure to leave room for dessert!

 

Jersey City Freedom & Fireworks Festival

What: Freedom & Fireworks Festival complete with music headlined by Snoop Dogg and a Family Fun Carnival. 

Where: Exchange Place, Montgomery Street and the Hudson River

When: Wednesday, July 4th from 12 noon until 10:00 pm

Chow: The Festival will feature a Food Truck Alley and a Food Tent Village plus Beer Gardens throughout so fear not, you will not go hungry (or thirsty!)

 

Englewood Independence Day Fireworks

What: Fireworks, food, live music and inflatables

Where: Dwight Morrow High School Front Lawn

When: Wednesday, June 27th at 7:00pm. Rain date is Thursday, June 28th. 

Chow: Sofia in downtown Englewood for elevated plates and creative cocktails in a sleek, buzzy environment.

 

Tenafly Fireworks and Town Wide Independence Day Celebration

What: Amusements, games, food and fun from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm and fireworks in the evening. 

Where: During the day events will be held at Roosevelt Common. Fireworks will be shot off behind Tenafly High School. 

When: Sunday, July 1st. Entertainment by the Waldwick Band begins at 8:00 pm. Fireworks will start at approximately 9:00 pm. 

Chow at: Mandoo Café. Because, dumplings. 

 

Paramus 4th of July Fireworks Celebration

What: Fireworks. Check the website for featured entertainers. Then head to the parade at 9:00 am on July 4 that the intersection of Century Road and Farview Avenue. Contests include a bike contest, a stroller contest and a Mr. & Miss 4thof July contest. 

Where: Garden State Plaza

When: Sunday, July 1st. Gates open at 6:00 pm. Fireworks after sunset.

Chow at: Mighty Quinn’s BBQ at Garden State Plaza then stroll over for fireworks fun. 

 

New York Waterway Fireworks Cruise

What: Watch the Macy’s 4thof July fireworks display while cruising in the East River on a NY Waterway ferry. 

Where: Port Imperial in Weehawken, NJ. Board the ferry at either 6:30 pm and enjoy music synchronized to the fireworks display and a fully-stocked cash bar offering soft drinks, snacks and cocktails. 

When: Wednesday, July 4th. Fireworks begin at approximately 9:00 pm. Ferry returns to Weehawken around 10:30 pm. 

Pro Tip: Reservations are strongly recommended. 

 

Empire State Building

What: An exclusive viewing of the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular for a limited number of guests. 

Where: The 86th floor open air Observatory at the Empire State Building.

When: Wednesday, July 4th. Guest check in begins at 7:00. Fireworks begin at 9:00. Following the fireworks, guests are invited to visit the 102nd floor, then depart at their leisure. 

Chow: Hors d’oeuvres and premium open bar are included between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm.

 

Ridgewood 4th of July Celebration

What: A day of celebration including a flag raising, parade and evening entertainment and fireworks.

When: Wednesday, July 4th. Flag raising at 9:00 am, parade at 10:00 am, and gates open at 6:00 pm for entertainment and fireworks. Fireworks start after 9:00 pm. 

Where: Veteran’s Field, Ridgewood

Chow at: Bareburger, the newest game in town, where the food is locally sourced, organic and sure to please every palate. Plus, at Bareburger, you can raise a glass to freedom with concoctions from their full bar. 

 

Leonia Sports Booster Carnival

What: Fireworks on July 4th at this family-friendly annual event featuring midway games, state-of-the-art thrill rides and whimsical kiddie rides. 

Where: Overpeck County Park, Leonia

When: Wednesday July 4th. Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm.

Chow at: Salute America as a melting pot for all kinds of cuisine as you enjoy your traditional Italian meal at Dante’s Place. Or, stick your scale in a dark corner of your closet and enjoy the fair food at the carnival.

 

Hackensack 4th of July Celebration

What: All day fun with games, kiddie rides, a flea market, food vendors, music and fireworks.

Where: Focshini Park, Hackensack

When: Wednesday, July 4th. The Time Machine Band begins at 7:15 pm and fireworks start at 9:15 pm. 

Chow at: Celebrate the America at CAVA, located in Bergen Town Center. Order up dips, spreads and traditional Greek specialties that “fill and fulfill”.

 

Village of Nyack’s Independence Day Fireworks

What: Fireworks are set off over the Hudson River and can be seen anywhere in the village.

Where: Memorial Park, Nyack, NY

When: Wednesday, July 4th. Fireworks start at 9:00 pm.

Chow at: Celebrate diversity at 8 North Broadway with a vibrant Mediterranean menu that changes daily

 

Ramsey Independence Day Concert and Fireworks

What: Bring your blankets and chairs for an evening of music and fireworks on Saturday, July 7th.

Where: Finch Park, Ramsey

When: Saturday, July 7th. Check the website for details.

Chow at: Oh please. It’s a no brainer. Kinchley’s Tavern for thin crust pizza that always tops the Best Of lists.
