Sometimes you just know something is right from the beginning. Families always say that the second they step foot on the campus of The Elisabeth Morrow School (EMS) in Englewood, New Jersey, they feel the difference. This first impression that EMS is where their children will learn, grow, and become a part of a one-of-a-kind community is confirmed with each visit to the school’s expansive 14-acre campus.
At The Elisabeth Morrow School, each member of the community is guided by the 4 C’s: Courtesy, Consideration, Cooperation, and Compassion. By nurturing each child's unique sparkand innate creativity, the EMS faculty builds confidence and inner drive in their students. Instruction is personalized for each student based on their readiness, learning profile, and interests.
Visitors find a diverse, international population with a global perspective and an open, warm, welcoming student body. The school’s elevated focus on innovation includes age-appropriate computer science classes for all students, grades K-8. Students are taught practical applications like CAD drawing and web design and explore other current and emerging technologies. The curriculum leans heavily on cross-curricular, project-based, team learning to teach students how to work collaboratively within a design thinking framework.
But, the best way to see and feel the “EMS Difference” is to visit the campus. Not only will you get to tour the facilities, but you will have the opportunity to interact with current families, hear their stories, and learn more about the school’s exciting, dynamic programs and pedagogy that have led, in recent years, to successful secondary school placements at institutions like Exeter, Andover, Choate, Spence, Riverdale Country, Horace Mann, Fieldston, St. Paul’s, Loomis Chaffee, Dwight-Englewood, and more.
