Every kid we know went gaga for DreamWorks’ animated musical movie Trolls when it came out a couple of years ago. The film was such a success that a highly anticipated sequel is in the works ... but won’t be out until 2020. To hold us over, however, DreamWorks is giving fans something that might just be even cooler than its movies: DreamWorks Trolls The Experience. The interactive exhibit, which launches for previews in Times Square on October 22nd -- promises to let visitors to dance, sing, and hug(!) inside the wonderful world of Trolls.
The 90-minute experience revolves around protagonist Poppy’s birthday party. Glitter gurus will be on hand to help partygoers prep for the big bash; there’s a trek through a light-up forest of critters where kids can dip their tiny toes in a gem-filled virtual pool and a ride on the life-size Caterbus; and then (thanks to the magic of 3D glasses) everyone gets to attend the big bash filled with music, dancing, glitter, and confetti. A ticket upgrade for the "Hair We Go Experience" where you're child can be transformed into a Troll with a makeup sesh and wig is available and really fun to do right before your walk through the experience so it's even extra-immersive. Oh, and there’s even an afterparty for selfie opps and scrapbook-making with the Snack Pack.
Light-up forests, gems, and selfie-and-scrapbook sessions? Sounds like we’ll all be inspired to step up our birthday party game by the end of the visit.
