Weekly Events  /

You probably already know this, but May is National Mental Health Awareness Month. In recognition of the important work going on around identifying, treating and de-stigmatizing mental illness, Englewood Health is partnering with The Performing Arts School at bergenPAC to present a free production of RENT – The Musical: Concert Version Performance

Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, RENT has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences. Set in the East Village of New York City, the show is about falling in love, finding your voice, and living for today.

At this special event, audiences will also get to hear from Englewood Health’s behavioral health experts about addiction and the mental health issues facing our community today. As a designated stigma-free zone, Englewood Health is dedicated to educating the community and offering resources that help combat discrimination and negative perceptions toward individuals with mental illness.

Englewood Health’s experts will also detail the support and treatment resources available, including access to the newly opened Gregory P. Shadek Behavioral Care Center. This center, located at 25 Rockwood Place in Englewood, features a dedicated care team of psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, an addiction specialist, and associated healthcare professionals. The team collaborates with existing nonprofit and governmental agencies to create education and prevention programs rooted in promoting healthy lifestyles for children and adults in our local community.
