With all that twirling, singing, painting, role-playing and dancing going on at your house, you know you’ve got a true star in the making. But where do you steer all that creative energy? BergenPAC’s Performing Arts Summer Programs, that’s where.
With programs aimed at kids ages 3 months to 21 years, specialized classes and intensives include music, dance, acting, visual arts, and more.
For ages 3 months to 4 and ½ years (with parent or caregiver) Music Speaks is an early childhood music program that includes talent such as a Broadway vocalist and musicians from New Jersey-based bands including Bon Jovi and Southside Johnny. The parent-child classes run for 45 minutes, including chants, finger plays, and small and large movements.
Geared for children ages 5-12, Summer Camp features theater games, dance combinations, choreography, music appreciation, singing, acting, and visual arts. All classes and workshops are taught by master teaching artists with professional credits, and with a final showcase on the bergenPAC mainstage, every child will feel like a star.
For ages 10 and up, beyondDANCE offers two 2-week dance intensives, led by artistic director, Roberta Mathes. These summer intensives are ideal for pre-professional dancers, who wish to improve their technical abilities in ballet, character, partnering, contemporary, and modern jazz.
For all ages, Dance Open are designed for beginner and intermediate level dancers who are looking to continue to work on their skills over the summer break.
