Bergen County’s Newest Salon is All About the Blondes

Beauty  /

Not only do blondes have more fun, not they’ve got their own salon, too. Celebrity hair colorist Eric Altomare, one of the most sought-after stylists in Bergen County and the man behind Eric Alt Salons, is about to unveil Alt House of Blonde, a studio specifically focused on blonding services, from highlighting to bleaching to double processing to High Lift Golden Blonde.

“What I noticed looking across the board at our company and what we do was that eight out of 10 services were around blonding, whether it’s a brunette having a little face framing or someone going bleach blonde,” Altomare tells Bergen Mama. “So we were already specializing in this and I thought it would be great to make it the main focus at this location.”

Altomare describes the new space – adjacent to his Eric Alt North location in Saddle River – as a modern take on a hair salon, situated in a refurbished 1870s historic two-story barn decked out in rustic woods and white marble. Alt House of Blonde, slated to open at the end of the month, will also serve as the new home base for Eric himself along with long-time stylists and blonding experts (whom he endearingly dubs his “blondies,”) Kate, Brittany, Meg, and Angela and will offer a variety of blonde-focused products that can be customized to each client. And not to worry, brunettes, Eric and crew will still be offering services for non-blonde clients in addition to blondes of all shades. “We’re talking Marilyn Monroe to Khloe Kardashian,” he says. “Most of what I do is blonde all day long so I wanted to up the game in this area. If you’re a blonde within 20 miles, this is where you want to be going.”
