You send your kids to summer camp to have fun, enjoy the fresh air of the great outdoors and maybe learn a little something in the process. But what they’ll find at Deerkill Day Camp in Suffern, is not just the amazing programs, facilities or activities – it’s the moment when a new friend is made, a new skill is mastered or a lasting memory is created (oh, and did we mention the family pool club too?).
Celebrating its 61st season, Deerkill Day Camp, offers your kids the chance to pick up a new sport or hobby, learn to swim, or perform on stage, all in a safe, comfortable environment staffed by mature, experienced counselors and staff (many of them teachers). Located on 15 spectacular wooded acres, Deerkill offers the best of both worlds – the delightful community feel of a sleep-away camp, complete with adventure challenges, specialty sports, crafts, theme days, field trips and professional shows and presentations without the overnight part.
Deerkill’s diverse programs include professional swim instruction in large heated pools, an array of athletics on fields sized for younger and older children, adventure course challenges on their brand-new climbing tower and zipline; creative and performing arts such as arts and crafts, ceramics, woodworking, dance, theater, digital photography and robotics and specialties such as music and nature. Plus, as campers grows, they are encouraged to challenge themselves by making choices about the way they spend their camp day, bolstering their confidence and independence.
Daily door-to-door transportation on mini air-conditioned buses, staffed with professional drivers and bus counselors, directors on-site and available by phone day or night, an open door policy for visits by parents, the luxury of limiting enrollment to ensure the camp is never overcrowded, and weekend access to our camp pools for all enrolled families, set Deerkill Day Camp apart.
Plus, there are no extra charges or surprise fees at Deerkill, not even tipping! At Deerkill they believe that compensating the staff is their responsibility, not yours.
