When you start the process of looking for a preschool for your child, there are a few things you have to consider. You’re going to want to find a place where the philosophy is to support and educate the whole child; physically, socially, emotionally and academically. A plus is if that same place fosters a sense of community for the family and encourages parental participation and engagement. A double plus is if the preschool infuses the values of a faith tradition into the classroom. The newly renovated, state-of-the-art Early Childhood Center at the JCC of Northern New Jersey in Washington Township does all of this AND is offering generous incentives for new preschool families who enroll.
The Early Childhood Center at JCCNNJ nurtures each child’s natural sense of curiosity and creativity in a developmentally appropriate environment. Jewish values and traditions will inform the curriculum through hands-on experience, but children of all faiths and backgrounds are warmly welcomed and supported in their pursuit of a lifelong love of learning. At the ECC, children are given ample opportunity to explore, move and learn through doing both indoors and in the brand new well-equipped play space. Physical exercise and cooperative play are emphasized.
The ECC is now accepting registrations for the 2019 – 2020 school year. Offerings include 3- or 5-day classes for 2-year olds and 5-day classes for 3- and 4- year olds. Before and after care are also available.
But if you can’t wait to try out the new ECC, two classes are available starting now. Blooming Babies, a parent and me class for kids ages birth through 15 months is being offered on Wednesdays from 11:30 am – 12:15 pm. Tot Shabbat, with Shabbat blessings, songs, and a challah and grape juice snack, will be held for parents and children ages birth through 4 years old on Fridays from 10:15 am – 11:30 am. Classes are drop-in but RSVPs are required.
