You might remember a few weeks back when we told you that the Sloomoo Institute was opening in Manhattan. Well, as promised, it’s open and last week we tried it out. Here are 7 things you need to know before you go to Sloomoo Institute:
1. You need to purchase tickets in advance. Your entry is timed and they do sell out. You’ll want to allow between one and two hours to make sure you see and do everything. So, hop online and reserve now, especially if you’re interested in visiting during the upcoming holiday season.
2. You really want to spring for the mac daddy ticket. At $65/pp it’s not the cheapest price point, but with this ticket, your child will get to don the custom poncho and goggles at Sloomoo Falls and have a bucket of slime poured over their head.
3. Parents of younger kids will also want to purchase the Enhanced Experience ticket so they can accompany their kids to all areas of the Institute.
4. The make your own slime area is the bomb. You’ll move from station to station picking the kind of slime you want, adding scent, color, picking charms to put in the slime and mixing and kneading the slime to your preferred texture and consistency.
5. You get a history lesson. That’s right. If you ever wanted to know how slime became a thing, Sloomoo Institute can give you the deets.
6. You’ll touch A LOT of slime. But that’s sort of why you’re there, so squish and squelch to your heart’s content.
7. Sloomoo is probably best for kids ages 12 and under. But older kids, once there, will also fall under the spell of slime and end up having a great time too. In fact, at the end of their visit, our kid testers, who are both older than 12, admitted that they had a great time and thanked their mom for bringing them. Which might be worth the price of admission right there!
