5 Things We’re Buzzing About in Bergen County NJ Week of August 13

 /

What’s the word in Bergen County NJ? Well, buzzworthy food and fun is happening and we are totally here for it. Enjoy!

Shark Week officially takes a bite out of Bergen at Sogno Coffee. Special coffee-themed drinks include Surfer vs. Shark Frappe (cotton candy frappe, golden oreo, gummy sharks, sour patch kids) and Saved by the Raft Lemonade (dragon fruit mango cooler ice cube in organic lemonade with gummy sharks and sour patch kids). Drinks are available until Tuesday, so grab them while they’re hot – or cold! (Sogno Coffee House, 11 Madison Ave., Westwood)

Most of our summer festival plans have been tabled until next year, but don’t count them all out. The Paramus Food Truck Festival is coming to Paramus Park Mall on August 16, with over 20 gourmet food trucks, plenty of drinks and kids activities including games and crafts rolling in with it. Bring your face masks (required) for social distance-style fun. (Paramus Park Mall, East Entrance, 700 Paramus Park, Paramus, 11 am-7 pm, $5 admission)

With fall gardening season around the corner, Fresh & Fancy Farms is expanding their kid offerings, so little ones can get in on the gardening fun too. Gardening options includes a junior gardening kit, children’s flower planting kit, kids’ watering can kit and so much more. They will love getting their hands dirty, and it’s an easy way to combine activity with education -- a win for everyone. Al fresco lunch (reservations required) and baked goods are also available every Thursday, so you can enjoy farm fresh treats while you’re there. (Fresh & Fancy Farms, 575 River Rd., New Milford, Open Thursdays in August)

Things are about to get a little fancy with De Novo Edgewater’s new bottle service only option, available at their lower patio lounge area. Enjoy a scenic view of NYC with a few close friends at this gorgeous spot where space is plentiful (along with drinks) and social distancing is easily maintained. A fun, safe night out? We’ll cheers to that.
