Sakara Life Cleanse Serves Up a Healthy Body, Glowing Skin and a Side of Sexy

Beauty  /

I’ve got a confession to make: I can’t stand green juice cleanses. I know, I know, that’s tantamount to treason in some circles, but it’s the truth. It’s not that it tastes bad, it’s that when I’m done drinking every bottle, I can’t stop thinking about how tearing into a slice of pizza would taste sooo much better. So when I began my seasonal cleanse this time out, I decided it was time put the squeeze on juicing and ordered up Sakara Life instead.

This NYC-based organic meal service promises the same bloat-busting, metabolism-boosting benefits of those trendy liquid cleanses without the punishing hunger pangs. Sakara founders Danielle DuBoise and Whitney Tingle have managed to cook up one killer cleanse—a week’s worth of nutritional, mouth-watering meals full of balanced, good-for-you nutrition delivered right to your doorstep.
I started our Monday morning with a well-orchestrated delivery of three meals. Breakfast was the Parfait Parfait, a “superfood spotlight” of immunity boosting and skin-plumping coconut oil, nuts, seeds, berries, and quinoa. Lunchtime brought Tantric Tandori Cauliflower, a super-satisfying salad filled with spicy tandoori, roasted cauliflower, and spicy tantra, which promised to increase sexual desire and enjoyment. By dinnertime, I literally devoured the Indian Spiced Samosas served with a sweet and spicy chutney on the side. Not because we were starving (not even close!), but because they were so delicious—little pillows of flavorful goodness, complete with a tangy dipping sauce. Other meals I loved were the Grilled Cauliflower with Fresh Arugula Pesto Flat Bread and the Roasted Potato Salad + Sweet Balsamic which was loaded with beans and asparagus.

Drinks were also served. Sakara meals are delivered with a custom-brewed serving of H2O, each infused with interesting flavors designed to go along with each morning and evening entrée.  I also loved the curated collection of herbal tea bags we received, which we continued to steep and drink well after our cleanse was over.

Sakara meal cleanses are offered Monday-Friday, and you can choose which meal combos you receive, like ordering just breakfast and lunch if you are out during a particular week. Convenience—and deliciousness, helping me finally shed that last few pounds (and my juice cleanse with it).
