Orama Restaurant in Edgewater, New Jersey, A New Bergen County Restaurant

Restaurants  /

No matter how many harsh New Jersey winters we’ve endured (and it’s been a lot!), it always seems that we’re counting down the days until the mercury climbs above “cold as hell!” and things finally start warming up. That means fun in the sun. And dining al fresco. And wine. Lots of wine. And this spring we’ll be experiencing that first sip at Orama.

This new Mediterranean-with-a-twist restaurant tucked away behind Mitsuwa Marketplace in Edgewater is sure to be a hit for several reasons. The first is Executive Chef John Piliouras, who made massive hits out of Bistro Maxime, Molyvos, and Englewood favorite Nisi Estiatorio. Now, at Orama, he fuses his classical cooking techniques with a deep appreciation for Mediterranean, American, and Asian cuisine, creating a menu of truly unique dishes that are totally refined.

The second is Orama’s out-of-this-world dining space. Boasting majestic views of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline, this place features two full floors decked out like an authentic Mediterranean waterfront villa (famed design pros and top-notch architects, designers, and artists had input on the project). The open space on each floor allows for unobstructed 180-degree views of the majestic Hudson River and New York City skyline. Guests can also enjoy an exceptional dining experience by sitting outside in Orama’s courtyard, which practically touches the water. Make those reservations now—they’re sure to be booked solid come springtime.

And then there’s the food. So much glorious food. Everything from fresh seafood (flown in daily), USDA prime steaks, Australian Wagyu, Kobe beef, and Colorado lamp chops. Oh, and those wine-drinking daydreams we’re having are sure to be quenched, compliments of Orama’s extensive wine list, which boasts a global selection of more than 30 wines by the glass.

Looks like we’ve found our new summer dining spot!
