Mitchell’s Fish Market Restaurant Opens in Edgewater

Look out, landlubbers, there’s a new, decidedly luxe seafood shop that’s for sure going to be making waves—big ones!—this summer: Mitchell’s Fish Market.

Just opened in the former Crab House space, in Edgewater, Mitchell’s serves up a menu full of gourmet surf staples and specials by executive chef Anthony Assenzio. We recently stopped by this ginormous (10,000 square feet!) sure-to-be hotspot and were more than impressed, starting with the layout: an open-floor dining room replete with massive wood pillars, vaulted ceilings, and eye-catching murals; an inviting cocktail lounge, and—the best part—sweeping panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline from the HUGE outdoor patio.  Seriously impressive.

Then it was on to the food, which was equally rave-worthy: oysters, shrimp and clams, iced seafood towers, ice-cold ceviche, sizzling platters, small plates, and house-made desserts. In addition, Mitchell’s Fish Market offers a great selection of wines—Cakebread Chardonnay, Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon, Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay—and a very affordable beer, cocktail, and martini menu (just $5 each!).

Meal price points range from $7 to $14 for sides, $1.25 (oysters à la carte) to $15.50 for apps, and $19 to $49.50 (Ultimate Shellfish Combo) for entrees. Not the cheapest Date Night in town, but certainly worth it, as everything here is EXTRA fresh and the presentation is seriously stunning. Trust us, you won’t be throwing anything back.
