The Rockland JCC Camps offer everything from swimming to computers at this haven for kids ages 18months- 10th grade.  Programs are segmented by age group, with Camp J Land offered for the youngest group (18mos-preschool), Camp Yomi for ages K-6th grade and specialty camps like All Star Camp and Camp Discover. Team Makers is bringing the nation-wide program Engineering for Kids to Bergen County this summer. Kids will engage in hands-on engineering projects, hone important team-building skills, and then blow off steam with some traditional camp activities. Neil Klatskin Day Camp JCC Palisades: The much-loved, community program is no longer just for the smallest campers who frolic at the “water park” and play indoor and outdoor sports at the newly restored Tenafly Campus. The program now also offers programming in a more traditional outdoor setting at the Alpine Scout Camp in Alpine New Jersey for campers in 3rd through 6th grade. Dwight Englewood Summer Connections’ program engages learners in the joy of discovery through a variety of experiences. Youngest campers weave weekly themes into activities like cooking, water play, Spanish and Music. Older campers choose from a jam-packed schedule of offerings like Debate, Web Design, and Watercolors or newer options such as Stained Glass, Science Medley, Cheftastic, Zentangles, 3D Printing, and Beatles Guitar Camp.  Alternative learning is also emphasized by using technology or different settings such as the Nature Sanctuary or a different country. One River School: This loft-like space in Englewood plays host to a full roster of art and digital design classes for kids K through 12th grade. Experienced artists and designers gather here to work with kids for half and full day sessions in everything from drawing, painting and sculpture (their popular Art Rocks program) to web design, digital animation and fashion design. Mini Picassos gain additional inspiration from the lobby gallery which showcases up and coming artists’ works. (One River School Camps, 49 N. New York Yankees Camps: offers teammates a top-notch weeklong camp experience: The very best in baseball instruction (differentiated according to skill and grade level, including hitting and pitching video analysis for campers entering 4th grade and higher) combined with unforgettable moments such as receiving an official Yankees uniform, going behind the scenes for an exclusive tour of Yankee Stadium, the opportunity to see a World Series Trophy or enjoy a “meet and greet” with a player on the Yankees current roster. Kaplen JCC on the Palisades Center Stage Musical Theater Camp (for kids entering grades 4 – 9) allows students of all levels to perform in a Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway-style musical with sets, costumes, big musical numbers, and solos for those who want them. Workshops include acting, improvisation, stage combat, movement and singing, as well as a well-deserved end-of-the-day swim.
