Grounds For Sculpture Just Added Play to the Art World

Day Trips  /

Is it art or is it fun? Is it enrichment or a playground? Hey, you kids, stop having so much fun and get back to learning something. Shouldn’t you be in school?! Well no, school’s out which means it’s time for adventures at Grounds for Sculpture.

Grounds for Sculpture is a great place to find a new adventure that combines fun with enrichment. Their new art installation called Impulse opened on June 9th, and get this, it’s fifteen gigantic seesaws with lights and sounds that change intensity and volume with the angle of the seesaw.

What’ll they think of next? Light up swings, slides, ziplines? Can we get a sand box that glows? Time will tell, but for now you and your kids can enjoy the field of glowing and singing seesaws and maybe it’ll spark their imaginations into a new world of possibilities in art and play.

The Impluse exhibit is especially cool at night and GFS is open until 9:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays and tickets are discounted to $12 for adults (children under the age of 5 are free and over 5 are $10). The exhibit debuted in Montreal and will be at Grounds for Sculpture only until July 9th. So, reserve your tickets ASAP.
