Tap, tap, tap, tap…..Do you know this sound? Well, that’s the sound of our feet tapping as we waited for is-a-berry Frozen Yogurt to open in Englewood.
Okay, we admit we went a little stalker on the corner shop. Yup, that was us peering in the paper covered windows while it was under construction for what felt like a very long time. Everyday, as the weather got warmer, we yearned for a little sample of what was inside. We have an unnatural obsession with all things frozen and sweet. And tell us its 20 calories per ounce - we love it even more.
Finally, our prayers were answered.
Is-a-berry opened its doors on Saturday. We adore the bubble gum pink walls, white pedestal tables and mod look of the place. But with eight self-serve flavors and toppings of everything from fresh fruit to M&Ms, who really cares about décor?
“Very Strawberry” and “New York Cheesecake” are the flavors we tried and loved, while our kid-tester raved about the “Peanut-Butter” and “Island Banana”. We even liked the yummy Euro-Tart plain flavor (think Pinkberry but creamier and healthier).
Stop by for an after school snack with your tot and watch them smile as they create a yummy frozen masterpiece. Oh, and did we mention the hours? Owner Isabel decided to keep the place open until 11pm so you can stop by late night for a delectable low cal treat.
And for that, we say “thank you berry much”.
